Pluto is a 5 year old male Weimaraner and is a total goof. We adopted him from Friends for Pets Weimaraner Rescue and he has become the center of our world. He is generally very mellow and spends most of his day cuddling in my lap in some kind of strange bodily contortion. He does, however, have his romp and play moments -- and is most happy when another dog decides to give chase in the yard.
Pluto has undergone professional training and is constantly learning. He has intermediate skills including extended down/stay (up to one hour), perimeter control (put down a rope and he will not cross it) and off leash skills including heel, follow, lead and recall. He has done some advanced training (heel at the swim, tracking, etc). But don't let this fool you -- he is VERY playful and gets quite excited when his friends come over to play.
Pluto welcomes all dogs into his home; alpha, beta and otherwise. He will down/stay while his guests eat their meals to ensure they are comfortable and do not become food protective. He is happy to share his toys, even with guests who do not ask politely. He will to "go to his bed" for a doggie timeout when guests need a break and does not bother guests when they are settling in for bedtime.
Pluto has never shown aggression with other dogs, people or children.
